Kildare Co. Co. Triathlon and Triathy

Well done to Rob for an easy win in last week’s Kildare Co. Co. triathlon. We’ll expect no less in the ironman in a couple of weeks.
Bronagh is competing in tomorrow’s Triathy so best of luck! I’m so in awe! You’ll be absolutley flying Bronagh! Give it socks!!! I might make a trip down to lend support.

These runners better do fab in China cos these triathletes are showing us all up!

UPDATE: Tara and Eoin were competing yesterday too and had cracking runs in the Sprint distance. Bronagh did an incredible 2:38 in the Olympic! Congrats to all, brilliant performance in hot conditions.

What we’ve been up to…..

Apologies for the lack of posts lately. I’ve been doing most of my blogging over at Team Geared Up, most recently about our Avon Ri Total Experience Adventure Race and the IMRA mountain races.

Well done to Niall for a smashing time in the national 10k road race, (35th position in a time of 33.46) and to Karen in Knockdhu.

Our most recent outing involved a few of us heading out to Dalkey Quarry for a very successful abseiling session with Neal and Nige from Irish Climbing Coaching. The fact that me and Tara took our feet off terra ferma was a huge accomplishment in itself….

Anyone fancy helping out at Wednesday night’s Hellfire race let me know as I’m race director. Although I’d prefer to see the Clonliffe chicks running to ensure our super team record from last year continues!

Rotterdam and London Marathons

Clonliffers out in force again! Bronagh 3:20, Marie 3:51, Annette 4:13, Eugene 3:14 and honourary Clonliffer Anthony ran his first marathon in 4:25. I gave an account of my outing here.

Well done to Tony and Liam on their double ultra!

All girly Clonliffe team is heading out for the Total Experience adventure race (mentioned here) on Saturday. Should be fun

Upcoming Adventures for the Wednesday Night Runners

The blog’s been a bit neglected lately so I just thought I’d do a quick round up of what all the Wednesday Night Runners are doing. Firstly on the 6th April we have a gang heading to Connemara, Rob and Tara are doing the half and the long list of members heading to the ultra includes Tony, Gary, Liam, Paul, Eoin, Dave. Also some friends entered include Dave Brady and Martin Francis.

A week after that lots of Clonliffe ladies are hitting the streets of London and Rotterdam for their best marathons ever! Myself, Bronagh and Finn are looking to storm around the Dutch streets in what will hopefully be a “cool” marathon, unlike last year’s Spring ones with their soaring temperatures.

Same weekend sees those Gobi-bound running the Wicklow Way 22k and 44k. Don’t ask me for directions…….

April 19th see the next installment of our adventures with the Avon Ri adventure race run by Sean Murray and Brian Kehoe. Remember the laugh we had last year? And I don’t mean at the gang that fell in…. lamha suas for this year, anyone?

We’ve also got Eoin and his “ultra-marathon triangle”….link to a post I did about that here. Best of luck to everyone in all their endeavours!
